Bob Wiseman five Juno award winner and co-founder of Blue Rodeo until he left in 1992 to follow a solo path. Since then he's built a career with, as he puts it, "fingers in many different pies”- producing thirteen albums, more than forty film and television scores, a 350-page book, and a suitcase of Super 8 films he scores live on accordion, guitar and piano.
Bob’s song "White Dress" was recorded by Serena Ryder, and his themes open CBC's Material World and Someone Knows Something. He has taught courses in creative writing, music business and songwriting, and was awarded his PhD by the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation in July 2026 - which is a formal way of saying no two of his sets have ever been the same.
His solo show combines piano and read excerpts from his book “Music Lessons’ - dynamic songs; a mix of contemporary folk, avant-garde rock, and blues anchored by improvised piano that never lands the same way twice. Wiseman's between-song stories are famous: dry, self-deprecating, sometimes sharply political, always human.
